Hi Leon and others,

We are family of 3 PR card holders from 2010 but not meeting PR obligations of staying 2 years out of 5 in canada. Our PR card expires June 2015 and we need to take chance to enter before card expires. My quesiton is that first time we landed in Vancouver BC but this time we need to stay in Toronto and if hopefully if we do not get reported can we apply for health card in Toronto as we are planning to stay permantenly there.....We did not apply any health card in vancouver when we landed first time......how long waiting period is in toronto for the health coverage after we submit health card application ? Is there any risk being reported if we apply health card when still our PR card is valid ? I understood that if our PR card expires then we can not apply health cards.

Many thanks in advance.

If you are able to enter Canada without being reported for not meeting RO and your PR cards are still valid, you can apply for OHIP. It will take 3 months for it to be valid for you to use. You will have to supply the required documents to them in order to qualify. You can start looking here to get more accurate information. http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/public/programs/ohip/
