Please I need advice on this as its making me so stressed out and ill.

A quick rundown of the situation:

-Applied inland common law March 26/10. My boyfriend secured extension as a visitor until Dec 7/2010.

We realized we had left out important information and documents.. Sent some documents ahead but never sure if these will be attached.

I would like to withdraw this inland application and apply outland. My boyfriend would like to be able to leave the country to visit parents or work if need be if the application was to get caught up in the system it would be huge financial strain on me.

1. How do I go about doing this?

2. Do I write a withdrawl letter?

3. What do I write in the letter? Does the sponsor write it or the applicant?

I would greatly appreciate any experience anyone has had with this. Thank you so much in advance. My stomach hurts and I can't stop thinking about it. I'm not worried about the loss of the fee or anthing. Just need to withdraw it asap :((

You can write a letter to CIC and mention that you wish to withdraw your application..CIC will acknowledge the letter and refund what ever fees you have already paid...you can then submit a new application outland..

Instead of withdrawing..why dont you send a letter and include the missing doucments with it..

i agrees with Lands. because NEXT time when u wanna send a new application to CIC the visa office will get suspericous and on the application it asks qeustions IF U HAVE PREVIOULY SEND SPONSORHIP application and if u withdrew it WHY did u withdrew it.

take Lands advice and send them missing papers instead of recalling whole file. that iwll be torubel for u

The reasons for withdrawing it are ommisions that could be quite serious. Also my boyfreind is on a temporary resident permit and can not leave the country while its being processed. So if it gets sent to another office it can take quite awhile and he would like to be able to have the option to go home and work if need be while we wait.

Even if you withdraw are you sure your old app is not still in the system for a period of time?Im not sure im just asking if anyone thinks they may keep withdrawn files on file for a bit just incase the person files again right after the withdraw. So they can refer to your old app.
Like i said im not sure.I know you can withdraw but im sure they must keep it on file for a bit to see if information has changed from the old file and what info changed.
PMM may be the best one to consult on that.

Thank you for the replies. I've written a private message to PPM and asked him about this issue. The information wont be changed just added, nothing removed.

He didn't put when he was in afganistan in the military as an address.

Do you think I can add this to the application through a letter?

It's true that the visa officer will want to know why you withdrew your previous application and then sent a new one, but your reasons are perfectly fine. You just have to explain in your application: 1. We accidentally omitted some information that was important. 2. We realized after sending an 'inland' application that an 'outland' application would be better for us, because my boyfriend wants to be able to leave Canada to visit his parents and wants to be able to leave if necessary to work.
