Hey guys,
I'm from Pakistan and applied on June 2nd for my study permit. I received my study permit refusal letter on July 21st. I was refused because I was not able to satisfy the officer that I had sufficient funds available to pay my tuition fees without working. I was also not able to convince the visa officer that I'd leave Canada at the end of my stay due to my travel history and family ties to Canada and country of residence (Pakistan).
I completed my IGCSE's and A levels with mediocre grades. I took the IELTS exam and got a score of 8.0 with no band lower than 7.0. I have unconditional acceptance from the University of Calgary.
In my previous application I attached only one bank statement from a single month that showed almost $42000 CAD. My tuition fees for one year are around $20000 CAD. I also didn't attach my high school grades or IELTS result because it was not on my document checklist. I only showed a single bank statement and a letter of support from my father.
I am now applying again with an upfront medical exam. This time I will attach a statement of purpose, multiple bank statements, an employment letter, my IELTS certificate and high school grades etc.
My questions are:
1. How can I show that I'll leave Canada at the end of my stay? I don't have any property, and my family doesn't own any business' that can guarantee me a job after I graduate. I don't have any family ties to Canada. Most of my family (uncles, aunts, cousin, brother) lives in Pakistan. My parents live in Nepal (they'll move back to Pakistan in 5-6 years).
2. What does 'Travel History' mean? I attached my passport pages with stamps from Pakistan and Nepal. I live in Nepal with my parents currently because of their job, I lived in Nepal for over a year and then came back to Pakistan for a few months with my parents; we will return to Nepal soon and i'll reapply from there due to quicker processing times. Is the movement between Pakistan and Nepal bad for my application? I also have stamps from Saudi Arabia on my previous passport (now expired); would it help my application if I attached that with my application as well?
3. Shouldn't $42000 CAD be enough to convince them that I have sufficient funds? My estimated costs are around $32000 CAD.
4. My IGCSE (5 C's and 3 B's) and A level grades (C and 2 D's) are quite poor. Does this hurt my application? Should I attach a recommendation letter from my teacher that I used in my university applications to show that I'm a serious student?
If you guys have any other advice I would really appreciate it! I'm applying online btw.
