Hi all,
My spouse is in India. He left Canada in March 2025, and at that time I applied for PR and got approved. He was a non accompanying spouse listed on my application. I am sponsoring him and they requested interview. Can someone please confirm if it’s better for me to go there and attend the interview as well. We have been together since 2019, and he left to regularize his status. The only issues are that our families are not supportive of our relationship except for my sister and our friends. We are worried they would reject the application. We were married in Canada, and our families are not involved in any decision making, but he is living with his family due to financial issues. Our situation is very different but we are worried if they would reject due to our families not being supportive and we are from different religions. @canuck78 @scylla can anyone pls give insight on the interview process or whether it would be better for me to be there? I have issues with my family members due to some childhood trauma and that is preventing me from visiting them. I haven’t met them since 2018 or visited India but I do occasionally call them. Thank you
