Hi,

I would much appreciate any advice on the following:

I'm currenlty working under a temporary work permit. it was obtained for a position of "Telecom Software designer - NOC 9990.7" ehich is LMO-exempt under HRDC.

I intend to apply for PR as an FSW, and the NOC list that the guide refer to does not have 9990.7 (even the format in the form is different - only 4 digits). The closest I could find is NOC 2173, which other applicants have mentioned results in rejection of the application. I don;t think 0213 will fit.

Any idea if NOC9990.7 can be used in the PR application? If not, any advice?

Thank you!!!

It is a synthetic code for the 7 IT related work permits that don't require HRSDC approval. Has no application for PR applications. So you will either have to work in Canada, obtain a offer of permanent employment from your employer once you becomes a PR.

I'm already working in Canada and have a letter for my emplyer that it is for an inderminate period. Can I write 9990 as my NOC?

if you had been working in Canada for at least two years you may be qualified to apply under CEC.

No. It has to be a proper code for your job from the NOC>

Thanks for the answer.

So it seems that SW engineers cannot apply under the FSW if they do not have experience as managers :(
