One more question , is FD statement is enough or past 6 months statements required?

Past Six months. If the statement shows the 'Date since the funds were available/FDed' that should do.

Funds in the name of spouse might not be acceptable. CIC explicitly asks for POF from PA.

What if its a Joint Account and/or the spouse is accompanying, and if the spouse puts a commitment letter stating that this is a joint fund for family usage/expenses?

Guess you didnt mention this in your initial reply.

Six month statement is usually for saving account. Fixed deposits will typically show deposits. So you will have to get a certificate from the bank which shows the summary of account. Ask the bank manager and he should be able to help you. Which bank is the FD?

Do you have a saving account? Where is your salary deposited?

Yes you can...also include a signed letter from him/her stating that its a joint fund meant for common use for both (and possibly the family)

If you're the PA, CIC wants POF in your name. When you say "his account", I'm assuming this isn't a joint account.

In this case, EITHER make it into a joint account with your name on it and submit bank statements along with a self declaration from your spouse that they have no reservations against you utilizing funds from the joint account for POF purposes OR ask them to transfer the monies into your account and provide a signed self declaration explicitly stating that this transaction is a gift not a loan hence need not be returned at any point in time and use that as POF.

All the best!

Hi I have received PT for OINP, had a query on proof of funds for nomination. Can I submit my investments in equity shares And mutual funds as proof. I have enough amount in investments there for min POF to be shown for 5 dependants (including my parents who are not travelling with me). Do I need to liquidate them?

Second part to same question is if equity/MF investments are not accepted, my dad has agreed to transfer FD bonds in his name to mine which is held in local co-operative bank. Can it be used as proof.

Kindly advise..
