Hi all,

I am a Canadian-American living in the states, I was born in America to Canadian parents, and have lived in the US my whole life. I have a Canadian citizenship card (the old credit card sized one with me as a baby lol). I am currently thinking about getting a second home in Toronto as I live in NYC and often work remotely so I would be able to spend quite some time up there and be near my family. Since crossing the border in that situation can be a pain when you only have a US passport since the border guards wanna make sure you aren't moving to Canada illegally.

Now for the real question: I called the embassy and they said I should be able to cross into Canada easily by showing my US passport with my Canadian citizenship certificate to prove my Canadian citizenship. However my last name is slightly misspelled on my Canadian citizenship certificate, my last name is Stien... and the last name on the certificate is Stein...
The rest of my name is spelled correctly and my D.O.B. is correct and matches my US passport.
So will the border accept it as proof or reject cause my last name has two letter switched?

I would also look up the various options taxation implications of what you are doing.
