Hey,
So i'd like to get a legal name change in order to add my family name to my Canadian documents. I am aware of how to get a legal name change, as it is very straight forward. My question however is after I get the certificate of name change from the Ontario government, how would I go about changing my name legally on both my passport and citizenship certificate? Passport offices are swamped, and they offer no information on where I have to go with the proof of name change in order to change my legal name on the passport. I am also aware that name change on citizenship certificates takes a very long time as they are swamped due to the back-log as a result of covid. If I were to just change my name on the passport, would I need
mobdro to change the name on the citizenship certificate even if I have both the passport in the new name and the name change certificate?
Any advice would be appreciated as the government websites when it comes to information with changing your name on the passport is not helpful in the slightest.
Thanks!
