Name change during citizenship process.

Hello! I have a question in regards name change. I applied online and still waiting for AOR. But I am also during divorce. I will be coming back to my Family last name after divorce. Should I inform them during application in process OR it will delay the process and better change after citizenship granted. I will be much appreciated for any suggestion! Will I need to apply for a new certificate or doesn't matter the last name on certificate? THANKS!

Is your divorce final? Do you have your divorce certificate? When i applied I just put my family name back to new legal name and uploaded my divorce certificate. Hope that helps

Thanks! Divorce is not final yet. But I already applied for citizenship. So not sure if I should inform them once I'll get my divorce certificate or will change name after citizenship granted...

Also, did you need to upload any Canadian ID (drivers license/health card) with your family name? after divorce.

Yes. I had my license changed to my family name again before i applied for citizenship.

I'm not sure. You can wait until your citizenship is granted. And then just change it after when you get your certificate. So its not so complicated.

I think it would be practical to wait. If youre still in the process of your divorce.
