Yes, if you leave anything blank, it might be considered Incomplete and file will be returned.
 
What about the forms that have the "validate" button at the top and produce a bar code? Those ones skipped us past the questions we did not need to answer and we were unable to write n/a, is this ok?

Yes they automatically blank the parts which aren't relevant to the application so you shouldnt have any problems.

That is exactly what I was wondering, But I still put N/A in the blanks.
I hope it does not interfere with the CIC approving the application.
