You decide/comment !!!

NOTE: If you do medicals before MR arrives you are willing to take the risk of:
- having less time b/w PPR and medical expiry (hence less time-frame to land)
- spending extra money to take medical the 2nd time if previous medical expires before PPR

so please assume the applicant is aware of the risks and is willing to take them ... in that case does it speed up the process in any shape or form?

or is there a third risk: the VO outright rejecting your medicals and ask to do them after it sends the MR? (in which case it would be totally useless to do the meds b4 MR)

Seniors' comments would be highly highly appreciated ... qorax, PMM, Leon ... thanks in advance

P.S.: also assuming the DMP is willing to do the medicals w/o MR (as the links above suggest) ...

better is go with the wind.....

I don't understand how you CAN do your medicals before the request?

You have to take the medicals forms Section A forms with you and the request letter (or Appendix C for family sponsorship) at the time you take the medicals. DMP will not allow you to take the medicals if CHC has not requested them?

it appears, from the links in OP, that DMPs (atleast some of them) are more than happy to do your medicals before MR ... but the VO instructions clearly state NOT to do the medicals until requested

Right Wayne.

Without MR you can not approach DMP. else you will end up spending unnecessarily.

I guess it depends on how long it takes to book the medicals.

We got our medical requests last Thursday (14th April) and have our medicals this afternoon (19th April) - so that's only 5 days. Hardly worth risking £600 just to save a few days.

I suppose if you are in a country where it takes several weeks then it may be more tempting, but even so I would never have the medicals done until the requests came through.

Also who does the DMP send the medicals to? Without the forms the DMP is not obliged to send the reports to the Visa Office. He/She will just hand it over to you.... & VO will not accept it from you, if & when they call for it later.

What's the point, not understood of doing medicals before being requested by the VO.

I agree there is no point whatsoever in doing medicals before being requested. Even IF you find a DMP willing to do them, the visa office probably will not accept them directly from you (that just give scope for the documents to be tampered with) and will only accept them from DMP.

Since it's likely to save you a few weeks at the most, probably only a few days, it really ain't worth it.

Just wait for the medical requests, people! :)

check out form IMME37064 for skilled workers appendix C

http://overseastudent.ca/migratetocanada/immforms/IMME37064.pdf

Applicants may, at any time, request that medical instructions be issued, and may undergo an immigration
medical examination, at their own risk. It is important to note, however, that undergoing an immigration
medical examination does not guarantee that a permanent resident visa will be issued.

The only risk is that your visa is not guranteed just because you did your meds..which is alright in my opinion....

I followed the link provided and ended up at SANTIAGO VO and found instructions in RED which answers the point raised above "How would you get medicals without the Medical Forms:
"Applicants may, at any time, request that medical instructions be issued, and may undergo an immigration medical examination, at their own risk. It is important to note, however, that undergoing an immigration medical examination does not guarantee that a permanent resident visa will be issued.
The permanent resident visa has the same validity period as the medical results, that is, 12 months from the date of the first examination or test."

I checked another VO Checklist and it did not give this option, so it appears that only select VOs offer advance medicals. Those applying for a STUDENT VISA can also complete Medicals before being asked to speed up the process.

i think mainly people who applied to buffalo and who are already in Canada should be able to do it in advance..not sure if any american dmps would do it in advance....

IF anyone IS interested in proceeding, check your individual VO Checklist for Medical Instructions. I looked at Buffalo just now and it states: "Detailed medical instructions will be sent to you. When you receive your assessment notice you will also receive medical forms for yourself, (and your accompanying dependants if applicable), instructions and a list of doctors in your area who are authorized to conduct immigration medical examinations.
You are not required to have a medical examination before you submit your application forms."

Sorry for digressing from the subject a bit, but would you be allowed to do medicals in a country that is not your residence? Does the VO care where they get Meds from? Or is it as long as the meds are done it's fine?
