my work permit is expired

Hi everyone!My problem is my work permit is expired last december 05 2012,then i got my lmo last october 2012,my bad is i didnt apply yet my papers.im goin to send my application on next wrek because of my financial problem.U think i still have chance to get my new work permit?please help meorgive me an advice.thanks

You were supposed to submit the work permit extension request before your old work permit expired. Because you failed to do that, you now have no status in Canada and are also working illegally (if you continued working after December 5th). You can normally apply to restore your status without leaving Canada. However this option is only available for 90 days after your work permit expires. You are past the 90 days now and restoring your status is no longer an option.

To answer your question - no, I don't think there is any chance your new work permit will be approved. You should leave Canada since you no longer have status here and apply for a work permit from your home country.

This is so sad, but Scylla is right. The LMO must have expired as well.
