Dear xxxxxxx

Thank you for your interest in visiting Canada. After careful review of your temporary resident visa application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.

You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee.

So this was the reply they sent me. I don't even know what they meant by "based on my personal assets and financial status" because I provided them with over 4 million Ethiopian birr( which is about 130000 USD) and about 23 million ETHIOPIAN birr (which is about 760000 USD) worth of cars and houses that I own in total so could u please tell me why I was rejected.
And to give u a detail it was a brother of mine which sent the invitation. And also my trip to canada is my first.
And also I live in Ethiopia

They don't think you will leave Canada. The financial assets is only one part of the rejection. The other two are more important.

What is your purpose for visiting Canada? And do you have any travel history to the US/EU/UK/Aus?

What ties to Ethiopia did you show (reasons why you must return to Ethiopia)?

I am a married person and have 3 children even though I have not been to any of the countries mentioned

Ok, and your spouse and kids were going to stay back in Ethiopia? Or did you apply for their visas as well.

And you didn't say what the purpose of your visit is?

The primary reason for getting denied is that the officer feels that you aren't a tourist and you are trying to come to Canada to stay for good.

No only me and my husband applied so that if we get the visa my husband would stay with my kids and I would go to visit my brother and return.

Well, so that's one reason for the rejection. Your husband and you both applied, so it may have appeared that you would move here for good.

It's hard to give you specific advice without knowing the details of your profile. In general, though, first time applicants from high-risk countries (where lots of people overstay on tourist visas), have to prove very strong ties to their home country and prove that they won't overstay. If the officer has any doubts, they typically deny the visa.

One thing you can do is order your GCMS notes (Google this). That will give you more specific information as to why you were denied, and you can attempt to fix that issue before you reapply.

What is your brother's status in Canada? If he is a PR, how did he obtain his PR status?

How did you show the savings and property ownership you have?
