So I am Canadian citizen by naturalization, I moved few years back to the US, got married and now I have a baby..
I am planning to apply for his Canadian citizenship by sending the Application for Canadian citizenship (CIT 0001) is that the right way?
do I need to hire a lawyer for this?

That is correct. You need to apply for proof of citizenship which is the citizenship certificate for your baby.

If you are Canadian citizen by naturalization and you were a Canadian citizen when your baby was born outside Canada then then baby is a Canadian citizen.

You can go to Canadian embassy in USA and they can further guide you. Should be a very straightforward and easy procedure.

Thank you all... So part of the process is to send certified copy of my Citizenship certificate with the application.. can I certify it from any notary here in the US or it has to be a notary in Canada?
