My husband's sponsorship for Canada...havent gotten any response

I have applied for sponsorship for my husband from India to Canada in October 2012. The Canadian Immigration sent my documents to India in December 2012 ..then I got an email in February 2013 to get his passport sent to New Delhi. My husband sent his passport. After that I didn't get any response till now. It has been so long and I am really worried. Are they on strike or something? Please give your thoughts.. thanks!

Apparently In the application in for India, Once they have received the documents from CIC and confirmed that all the documents you have submitted is complete, they ask for the passport right away. Meaning they ask for passport in the beginning of the application. Even if they have asked for passport this does not mean that the application is already done. (Some country ask it later on the application.) The current average wait after sent to the office is about 10 months. So comparing that you are still in the early months and might have to wait more.
