my father and I applied together for a Tourist Visa to the United States late last year when he was accused of misrepresentation, for falsely claiming my mum was around when in fact she wasn’t. He was given a ban for a period of time. Now my question is, does this ban affect me if I’m trying to get into Canada as a permanent resident.

No - it will not.
