Hello everyone,
Me and my family made inland refugee claims with the following timeline:
Claim sent: April 18th 2025
Acknowledgement of Claim: April 23rd 2025
IRCC Interview: May 8th 2025 (RPID, Referred to RPD, Biometrics, Received a Work Permit with a Passport Number on it, as I didn't have one before)
Biometrics Complete: May 9th 2025
Medical Exam Passed: May 10th 2025
Sent Request for File-Review Processing to the RPD: May 20th 2025
Confirmation of Work Permit: May 22nd 2025, Received it in the mail a few days later (This one had no passport number on it, all family members requesting permits got it.)
After this I heard nothing from IRB/RPD, so after a while I called them and they told me that we were waiting for Front-End Security Screening Confirmation (FESS).
On October 7th 2025 I called again, they told me that would call back. On October 10th they called back and told me that they were still waiting for FESS and that they were sending us a letter detailing the decision regarding of our File-Review Processing Request.
The letter said that:
On 2025-05-20, an application was made by the claimant for: File Review Process RPD
The Division acknowledges receipt of the claimants' request for consideration via the File Review Process (FRP). This file has been streamed for completion under the Instructions Governing the Streaming of Less Complex Claims.
However, the file is not ready to be put on the schedule at this time. The Division is still awaiting on outstanding information from our internal partners for the file, namely the claimants' front end security screening (FESS) result.
...
As such, we will continue to follow up with our internal partner on the status of the FESS results and notify you as soon as the requested information is received. In the meantime, the claimants can also communicate and request FESS status update directly from the CBSA. The claimants may resubmit a request to be considered for FRP once FESS result is received. The claimant's FRP application is therefore dismissed.
What does being "streamed for completion under the Instructions Governing the Streaming of Less Complex Claims" mean? Is it just a generic sentence or does it mean that our claims have been found to be less complex?
Also as they said, I called CBSA regarding on how to request FESS and they told me to call IRCC. IRCC told me that they couldn't help, and that I needed to call CBSA.
Do you know how to do that, or what's your experience with this?
Also any other information you know and can share would be very useful to me.
Thank you, all help is appreciated.
