Do you actually get more information by linking your application here? Are they abandoning the old site? Are the notes you request via that separate process worth it?

You get slightly more information in terms of what stage your application is at but not much at this point. The GCMS notes are golden - depending on what stage you are at. If you are around 4 months after sponsor approval, I highly recommend ordering GCMS notes as it will tell you exactly what stage you are at, the notes the reviewing officer is making on your file, etc.

I imagine the mycic will evolve as time goes on. Eventually, it would be nice to be able to submit the entire PR application online via myCIC.....(this is what I suggested in a number of lettters I wrote to my MP, minister and PM.

Apparently when trying to link the paper application, it's best to try with minimal information filled in to the fields (apparently they are all not mandatory). From my experience, it seems that once you enter something for a particular section, you must complete that section. Hopefully I will be successful at linking my files today.

Hi All,

I am finally able to link the application with myCIC profile. I am sponsor and representative.

Just wanted to let all of you know. My wife birth city/ town is Kolkata. I was entering Kolkata on page but not working.

I checked GCMS notes and in there Place of Birth is mentioned as Kolkata West Bengal. (No comma in between, just space). And it worked.

I suggest you all try entering state name as well..

Hey. It finally worked for me.
You know what did the trick?
A space in City of birth.

They apparently didn't update their system with my father's city of birth.
Just leaving it blank didn't work. I had to press the space button.

I also put 6 for family size: Sponsor, 4 sponsored people, wife of sponsor.

I hope this info helps others who are struggling to link.
