Hello,

I am from Costa Rica, I have an sponsor that is paying for everything of my trip from the plane ticket to tuition fees, lodging and other expenses. First time I applied for the canada study permit visa, it was refused because I couldn't prove my sponsor's available funds. The second time it was addressed via signed letter of sporsorship, my sponsor's bank statements and tuition payment receipt. This second time it was refused stating that I couldn't prove I have sufficient funds for me and any accompanying family members.

To me it sounds like they didn't even read my letter of explanations or even bothered to check the sponsor's information. It doesnt have any sense since nowhere on my application is mentioned anyone else but myself. Nobody is traveling with me as I indicated on the family form IMM 5645 attached to my application.

This is 1 in a million opportunity to me.. My sponsor wants to support me till the end so I want to try for the third time. What do you recommend me in order to get it approved this time around? Since I am being sponsored what other supporting documents should I add? Any valuable information about this is gladly appreciated it.

Thank You!

Who is your sponsor?

What is your true relationship to your sponsor? In my head, IRCC either doesn't believe that a "friend" would sponsor a friend. Even if this friend is well off, 25,000 for a year is not a small amount. Usually, people are sponsored by their parents, not by friends. Otherwise, IRCC may also be thinking that you and your friend are more than that. If you've already been rejected twice, try getting your GCMS notes to find out what exactly they doubt about you.

My sponsor is a close friend of mine, she is a married canadian citizen with a software development job, she is currently in Canada and I am in Costa Rica.

Generally speaking IRCC expects your sponsor to be a close family member (e.g. parent, sibling). I'm guessing this is why you were likely refused.

I understand that. I will try to get the GCMS notes to get a clearer view of what led them to refuse my visa. My sponsor friend is the closest to a mother as she could be, right after my own birth mom. Could to attach evidence of our relationship (photos, emails, calls,texts...)between us help to support our friendship and motive for her to sponsor me? She doesnt have kids of her own, I'm the closest she has to a daughter that is why she is helping me with this. Thank You

In the case of Friends there is always a risk that they will not follow through or stop paying if they need the money for their own use. Seems like you are also asking to bring your family which requires even more assets. If you apply again I would only apply for you and not any accompanying family members.
