My brother was deported from the U.S can he travel to Canada?

My brother entered the US legally in 2004 as a permanent resident and in 2010 was deported due to DUIs and aggrevated felony (theft offense). It has been 8 years since he was deported to Ecuador and we are wondering if there is any way that he alone or with his family can migrate to Canada?

Unfortunately chances are slim to none on bases of criminal inadmissibility. Still you can check with proper lawyer / immigration consultant if jail sentence was suspended or theft charges were below 5000.

He is inadmissible to Canada at this time due to his crimes. He will have to apply for rehabilitation before he can consider coming to Canada. The rehab process can take anywhere from a few months to over a year to complete. He should apply as soon as he can to start this process.
