Dear Experts,

I am currently in U.S on H1-B visa.
I have applied for canada immigration in August 2008 before the rules were changed.( sent the applicaiton to buffalo offfice in U.S)
I applied for myself and spouse. I sent a DD for 1100 dollors for both of us (application fee).

I got a response from buffalo office saying(in April 2009)

The occupations you indicated that you have work experience in does not correspond to any of the occupations specified in the instructions. As your occupations is not inncluded on the list of eligible occupations, we are unable to process your application at this time.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp

But they never sent me back the applicaiton fee (i sent USD 1100 DD) to me.
But few of my friends in CANADA FILED for immigration recently who had applied to Sydney , NS office..their application returned back with the fee they sent.

Shall i sent a mail to buffalo office regarding my application fee.

Please suggest.

THANKS,

Hi PMM,

Could you please let me know What to do?.

THANKS,

It can take up to 6 months for a refund from a CHC/CIC (other than Sydney) but I would send them a case specific email and enquire.

PMM

Thanks So Much PMM For your immediate response.
I really appreciate your help.

I got the same situation, I applied under skilled class immigration in March 2008 and they returned my application due to NOC not listed in fast track process. They also mentioned that "You will received your fees in few weeks.

I submited my application in LONDON OFFICE but received letter form Central intake Nova Scotia.

I receieved this letter on 08 January 2009. I already sent them a reminder in August ( to Nova Scotia) but still my applicatio processing fee is not returned.

Kindly help me out to find where and how can I approach for the return of my application fee please.

our fee was refunded within three months after they returned the application. try to contact them the way PMM advised, some offices are so ignorant preferring to deal with applications that are in process than with ones that are already finalized (read as denied).
