My husband and I are looking to move to a Muslim community in Ontario. I know there are plenty in and around the GTA but where exactly are they? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Brampton has predominantly Sikh community, You are better off in Markham, lots of Muslims there and plenty from Middle East

I lived in Brampton in 2011, the Muslim communities are in Brampton but mostly from Pakistan, India and Bengladesh, these people are very cooperative and helping. The Arabs are mostly in Markam (I heard)

You will find Muslims throughout the GTA, but general areas of concentration are:
- Mississauga
- Scarborough
- Brampton
- Markham

I'm 99.9% the whole of Brampton is just Muslim

It's not. According to this census, the largest denomination group are Christians (50.5% of the population) followed by Hindus and Sikhs. Muslims only accounted for 7.1% of the population.

In GTA, East York, Scarborough & Markham have large Muslim community.

Outside GTA, London and Windsor have pretty large Muslim population (mainly Arab). Waterloo-Kitchener and Kingston will come in second.

I haven't heard such unless you find a Muslim landlord.

Like anywhere else, rent may be higher if the location is near to public transport, schools, parks, shops etc. in Canada. In other term, it really depends on the land value of the area (per square foot value).

FYI, you have to pay minimum of $900~$1000 for 1-bed apartment in all over GTA. If you rent a house, it would be much more unless you just rent the basement of a house. I think the latter would be the cheapest for a single family.

thanks Rossie, a member of a Muslim community center in mississuaga had passed on this info to me, since they also had to pay bit higher in order to stay near that center, I am talking about Al Huda.
