I am moving with my family to Toronto this year. Our two daughters, age 10, are studying Superior Grade of piano in the Conservatory of Music in our home country and we would like them to continue their piano career in Toronto.

I have done some research in the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto and the annual fees are around C$4,400. Is it a normal price for music studies there? Can anyone recommend me any other institute or music school of good reputation where I can head for information?

Thank you.

If you want to keep expenses low, your best bet is to find a good private piano teacher once you are in Canada who lives in your area. These teachers often teach from their homes. You can still follow the conservatory program - that's what most private students do. You don't have to attend the Royal Conservatory itself - apart from going there for exams. This is what I did as a child. Unfortunately I don't have any teachers to recommend. However once you know which area you are going to be living in and can talk to other parents in that area (as well as look on the web), I can't image you'll have any trouble finding one.
