Hi Guri89,

As far as IELTS is concerned, even I have given the test again. I would suggest you to attempt IELTS again as there is no other option available.

Guys wait, don't just retake the IELTS. Do some readings of the CIC requirement. ...

Hi taurasmishu83,

Let me shed some light on your advise to retake the IELTS.
As Far as I Know, only those whose declared Occupation in his/her application fall under NOC Category C or D need to submit updated / valid language test results (IELTS).

Otherwise, CIC shall ask for a valid language test result from you if they see it necessary.

I recommend to check the links below: for better understanding and avoid wasting time and money for retaking the IELTS.

My NOC category is "B" and I also submitted an expired IELTS and yet I received an AOR from CIC saying my application is considered complete based upon the requirements of the Instructions and Regulation 10 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA).

... Good Luck to us all ...

Hi Justsingh,

If we do an average count based from those who applied ahead of us, it's around 2 - 3 weeks from the AOR date.

...this makes me so anxious... ;D ;)

.... Good luck to all of us ....

Hi Justsingh, Druce and others,

I see now that it really depends on the local visa office. That's why it is essential for our file to be received ASAP by our local visa office, AM I CORRECT?

... Good Luck to all of us ...

Hi!
Congrats on your process so far.
When did you send in your CIC forms and how long did it take for you to get the Acknowledgement?
And what's AOR? Is it Acknowledgement? (I'm kinda new so i don't know the commonly used abbreviations).

Hi mohdsafiuddin,

Nov 8, 2015 : sent CIC docs thru DHL
Nov 13, 2015 : CIC rcvd
Feb 4, 2016 : AOR (Acknowledgement of Receipt) from CIC

... The AOR that I received, is actually a letter from CIC acknowledging that They have received my PR application and that all documents are considered complete. It's not really titled as AOR.

... Good luck to all of us ...

Hi Justsingh & other forum mates,

How do we know if our files are already "transferred" from CIC - CIO to our local Visa office? Will it show when we check our status thru the CIC site?

As of now, neither my UCI # nor my Application file # (provided by CIO in the AOR) is still not recognized in the CIC web portal when I use it to check my application status. I guess I have to wait for awhile since I just recently received my AOR... about 2 days ago, last February 4, 2016.

... Good luck to all of us ...

I read actly somewhere that you will receive a confirmation mail from your local visa office that your file has been received.
