I am also in same boat, my application is in Assessment is Process since Mid December and no update post that. My sponsor is not yet interviewed..

You have a unique (in my opinion) situation. Through reading this forum, I was lead to believe that sponsors' interview come first before receiving "assessment in process" status. That is because MPNP bases its assessment partly on sponsor's interview. Are you very sure your sponsor was not contacted by MPNP?

Yes, i am 200% sure my sponsor is not yet contacted by MPNP. Also i received a mail from MPNP around mid December asking if i would like to process my application under express entry and i opted for that and wait started from that moment.

I see that you "somehow shifted" your application to the express entry system route, it'll probably be faster once in the CIC stage after being given the provincial nomination.
The reason I asked if you're sponsor was contacted by mpnp is because I read in other forum that there was an email invite (for an "orientation or forum" in Manitoba - and as far as I know it was scheduled jan 2015) sent by mpnp to some sponsors of applicants who they think should take advantage of the express entry.

May we know what were the additional steps you needed or required to do to process your application thru express entry?

i am in the process of submitting my application to CIC, my LOA says that original copy of the letter should be submitted, while in the document checklist says that a copy only.. i am confused, need your help! thanks

Just the copy... Follow the checklist .. Double check everything before you submit.. Goodluck and Godbless

Thanks for your kind wishes ... Yes, my sponsor was invited for an orientation session which happened on 7th Jan, 2015. I was asked to provide WES education credentials assessment report as well as updated funds to ensure i meet the Express Entry Fund requirements.

Last Night, I have received one more e-mail asking me to create Express Entry Profile and share the Express Entry ID and my Job Seeker Validation Code. Post that they will share the result within 30 days.

Job Seeker Validation Code..... It seems to me that mpnp shall put your profile open to potential employers in Manitoba (my opinion only). If there's an interest, then you'll get higher points w/c makes your score stand out among others in the "express entry" applicant pool. Eventually, you'll belong to the 500 Express Entry approved applicants allotment for the province of Manitoba. But I wonder if you don't make the cut? Will they still include you in the Normal process?

... my bad if my queries sounded a bit off... I was just trying to scoop some info (500 express entry allotment vs 5000 normal MPNP allotment)... also, I have a strong feeling they'll give you the provincial nomination (that's add'l 600 points for your Express Entry). Otherwise, they probably wouldn't bother to inform you of that option ...please keep us updated... best of luck ! !

Congratulations on the steady progress of your application...

Please clarify....

The reason I ask this is because I have read in other blogs that some MPNP applicants are advised to take advantage of the Express Entry. If you did it anyway w/o any MPNP advise and still get positive updates, then that's the first I've known of.
