Thanks, I am aware of the definitions but I was wondering where I need to provide my parents/siblings/brother-in-law/nephew information. Correct me if I am wrong but I presume that If I don't provide their information now it will be harder for me to sponsor them later?

Questions for those who have already submitted their application packet to CIC:

1. in the Generic application form, under "Add Dependents", should I add the details of my Parents, Sister, brother-in-law or should I submit only the information about Spouse/Common-law/children? -- ADD Dependents is only Spouse and Children. Parents Sister Brother in Law are not dependents. And it won't effect in future also.

2. I see in the checklist that Bank statements, education and experience documents were not asked to submit but should I send them again or not?
You can send them if you want to . Doesn't make a difference. I attached my bank statments as proof of funds. Employment is not a concern for them as they will validate our application with MPNP.
What did you guys do while sending your applications?
I need immediate clarification and I would appreciate all your replies ASAP..Thanks.

When you will be sponsoring them, they need to validate how strong the connection is of the Applicant with the sponsorer not the other way around. So its is for the applicant to show how strong his ties are. They won't be checking your application form whether you have mentioned them as dependents or not as they are not dependents. They will check your family information form most probably as that has the details about you parents and siblings.

I am currently living Durban, South Africa.

I submitted my online app + SP2 on 22 May 2014, received a file # on 26 May 2014. File status received.
I am a Lecturer at the Durban Universityof Technolgy (DUT), was previously at Management College of Southern Africa for a year before that.
Currently pursuing my PHD through DUT. I lecture Business Management, Business Admi, Marketing 1, 2, and 3 as well as Consumer Behaviour and Marketing for Retail students. I ahve been looking for vacancies for lecturing posts in Manitoba but I haven't come across any so far :'(

Im just praying our applications move along really quickly now because of express entry.

I have been in Durban several times, I graduated at UNISA for my PhD in Computing Education.
I came to Manitoba on the 28th August 2013 and am lecturing at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg.
I applied on the 31st July 2014 and got my LOA on the 15th December 2014.

I donot have phd ... I m post graduate in management.

If Govender is University or College Lecturer, she is of NOC 412 and does not even need the IELTS.
I did not go for it.

Doesn't matter, his spouse and your sister would be the same right . You can sponsor your friends also. Its not necessary it should be stated as dependent in your forms. So relax. Complete your steps of application. It will take time before you sponsor anyone and we don't know by then what the rules would be. So don't worry much and don't fill the wrong things in form and get it rejected. Dependents is Clearly stated as Spouse and Kids. You can't fill wrong info in that.

Lol, you are quite the funny guy. I was thinking of the same thing before I called CIC Call centre this morning and since the information the person has revealed was very conflicting, I couldn't help but wonder if maybe she was right.. Nevertheless, I filled all my forms correctly and sent my application packet to NS this afternoon. Don't worry about me, I am old-school and I always double-check and triple-check if I have done everything according to the book and I always do. Thanks for your insight though! Now the waiting begins again..

For having a strong application always advised, do one at a time. Otherwise have read in the forum where the application was rejected because the Sponsor was already getting looted
