hello friends

i am preparing my cic documents just have some questions to ask

1) my wife she does not have any last name on her passport. as per cic generic application and all other documents last name is necessary.
in this situation what should i do? somebody told me

use her first name(for example kim) as last name as well. so i guess it will look like
first name-Kim
last name-Kim

is it right or not?

Hello Raman

Don't go for anything and simply write Kim Kim as first and surname as well don't get panic for such matter it is simple don't worry

Hi Druce,
I am University Professor, on Work permit. from Lesotho Southern Africa.
Awe my brother from the country within my country! I have been to Maseru once to deliver a car there, nice and mountainous country.

At which University are you lecturing in Manitoba? How long have you been there for? How did you manage to land a job offer and get the work permit?

To answer your question, No.. I haven't received any temp work visa along with my LOA. I just received two documents which is the LOA and the instructions sheet on how to send the application packet to CIC.

Now being said that, I am already here in Winnipeg on a study permit and according to new change in rules, a study permit acts as a work visa as well.. So, I don't need to get a separate work visa to work in Winnipeg. Know what I mean? Every case is different and this is my story..

If you really have a good job offer, I suggest that you apply for your temp work visa.. If you don't have to wait for long to receive it, I say why not go for it? Good luck :)
Hi, just a question, where did you read that "according to new change in rules, a study permit acts as a work visa as well" ?

I am not doubting your statement, I would like to apply for a study permit for myself for the meanwhile. MPNP is taking TOOOOO LONG...

Hi Druce, follow this link and check under "New regulations, as of June 1, 2014", 3rd point

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/notices/2014-02-12.asp

Those students who are enrolled as full time students in any post-secondary public schools can work off-campus for 20 hours per week. The students don't have to apply for separate work permit or wait for 6 months to start working. Hope this clarifies your questions..

thank you very much for your advise Waiting Winni. i have another doubt. actually i am getting marry in jan 2015 and i am waiting till then to apply together with my spouse. my question is that:

1)do i have to submit my marriage certificate to mpnp before submit file to cic?

2)will they issue me new LOA letter including my wife name on it?

Hi, when I try to log in to MPNP from yesterday to check my status I get this message:

Yep...................I have the same message today as well.

On the brighter side, could be a good sign hey ;D

My MPNP status is assessment in process, and i have a better job opportunity here in India. If i am changing my job at this stage, would it affect my MPNP application ? Also, what all things i need to submit to intimate MPNP about change of job ? Any suggestions/thoughts ?

Regards

I think its bcuz theyre uploading lots of new content regarding express entry. Check out this section... So many new articles put up yesterday answering all our doubts...

http://www.immigratemanitoba.com/category/express-entry/

This from Ferrari's link:

Draws will be made from the Express Entry pool on a regular basis. Note that all job offers will be subject to current labour market impact assessment criteria.

Two things:

do we know how often "regular" is? and how many get drawn?

and

if we get drawn and subjected to a LMIA, does that imply there is a chance we wont qualify

orrrrrrrrrr am i just over-thinking this? :-\
