i havent mentioned my other close relatives who are living in other provinces in my mpnp. is it possible that the embassy people will find out those relatives? if they so, is there any negative effect on my file processing? my current supporter is brother in law and i applied under family stream.

Nope, they wouldn't search for your other relatives which you haven't included in your application. Well, since there can only be one main sponsor supporting you at a time, it makes complete logical sense. Your current sponsor is a close enough sponsor and I think you are right on track.. Don't have unnecessary doubts.. Good luck! :)

Hi Druce,
I am University Professor, on Work permit. from Lesotho Southern Africa.

hello friends

i am preparing my cic documents just have some questions to ask

1) my wife she does not have any last name on her passport. as per cic generic application and all other documents last name is necessary.
in this situation what should i do? somebody told me

use her first name(for example kim) as last name as well. so i guess it will look like
first name-Kim
last name-Kim

is it right or not?

First Name is her Given Name (Mary, Sarah, Julie, etc...)
Last Name is the family name (Kim, Lee, Burky etc...)

Question for everyone who received an LOA from MPNP:

Did you also receive a letter of support to get a temporary work permit while waiting for CIC to process your perm residence application?? I have a strong job offer that needs me to start immediately, so maybe this is why I was issued a letter to get a temp work visa.

Anyways, I was wondering if any of you received this and took advantage of a temp work visa for a specific employer after receiving nomination from MPNP? I'm an American who was told I can go to the border and apply for the visa that day without issues with this letter of support from MPNP. Canadian BIS doesn't give me much more information, so i'm curious if anyone else was in this same situation and what your experience was?? thanks!!

Ask if your wife is willing to take your last name.. if so, go to a lawyer and get an affidavit proving that you are married to each other which in turn displays her first name along with your last name. Submit the original affidavit along with your CIC package. That should do the trick.. Good luck!

To answer your question, No.. I haven't received any temp work visa along with my LOA. I just received two documents which is the LOA and the instructions sheet on how to send the application packet to CIC.

Now being said that, I am already here in Winnipeg on a study permit and according to new change in rules, a study permit acts as a work visa as well.. So, I don't need to get a separate work visa to work in Winnipeg. Know what I mean? Every case is different and this is my story..

If you really have a good job offer, I suggest that you apply for your temp work visa.. If you don't have to wait for long to receive it, I say why not go for it? Good luck :)
