Hi EInna, I was under the impression that this will send it to Canadian Embassy in South Africa (country of residence) when they do the file transfer?

Canada only has the one embassy in South Africa. If they don't send it specifically to this office, where do they send it then?

Does some of the applications get assessed in Canada itself if you don't request for the transfer?

Hi Druce:

The norms is to send the file to the nearest VO on your residence. However, there are cases wherein expatriate residing in a certain country say for example Dubai, but was actually a Filipino and would like to have his application processed in the visa office in Manila (CEM) who happens to have a short processing time compared to the Abu Dhabi visa office.

The only file being processed in Canada itself are for those who are already residing there on either a working visa or student visa who are applying for permanent residency.

Hi Jnaiel, only received an e-mail with the attached letter. This is what you should use to apply for PR. The e-mail read as follows:

Please see attached.

This is the only copy of this letter, a hard copy will not be mailed.

Regards,
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program

This is a new thing! I remember requesting them to send me the scan copy of the LOA but they told me that they need to send me the original letter along with the green sticker to identify that you are a provincial nominee.

Hi Einna, thank you for clarifying. We have a VO in South Africa and I am a citizen here and living here currently so I am sure they will send it this way.

Why did it take so long for your file to be transferred to your local VO?

MPNP have been sending LOA like this for the past 2-3 months. They do not post you an original anymore. I guess that CIC and MPNP have a new agreement where they only check if the file/case No is legit and then CIC processes the PR application.

I initially put London as my VO as it was stated in the CIC website that my place of residency will be processed by London. I'm assuming my file went to London then they realized that it should go to ADVO since it is closer to my current place of residence.

They finally notice that things will be better if they will just embrace technology and do things electronically! It would have save time and eliminate the chance of getting your LOA lost in the post ;)

Very true, wish we could have submitted electronically to CIO as well. It took my application from the 23 September 2015 till today to reach CIO Sydney NS by courier.

But hey, it has been submitted and I am so happy now ;D

Hi all.

After waiting 16 months(from may 2014 to September 2015), my assessment is complete. My MPNP status is showing "assessment Complete".

I have received a mail from MPNP and it has LOA attached to it. But attachment is named as "Letter of Approval Base."

What is this "Base"?

Thanks in advance...

I think it's not a big issue. Go ahead as per instruction with LOA and prepare for CIC.

When your interview is completed ?
