IELTS....

Starting July 1, 2012, most Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) applicants for semi- and low-skilled occupations that fall under National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Levels C and D will have to undergo mandatory language testing and achieve a minimum standard of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4 in English or Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) level 4 in French across all four categories: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Therefore, skilled O....A....B.....are exempt.

Hope this will help to those planning to get IELTS.

Hi forum mates! Kamusta kayo? Congrats sa lahat ng may mabuting balita sa kanilang application.

Anyhow, I'd like to ask if there is anyone here who had their medicals at Nationwide Health Systems here in Cebu? I had my medicals last April 15th and I had been following up since last week. Initially, I was told the results will be forwarded to CEM within 10days. I made my first follow up on the first week of May and was told it is 10 working days. When I made another call today (13th working day), I was told they have to look at their records first; can not tell me for certain if I am already cleared; can not tell me if they have forwarded it to CEM; and they have so many clients for the past weeks. The one I talked to said they will send me a text within today, but it's already 5pm and I haven't got anything.

I'm already frustrated as this is the third week since and there is no clear answer on the results of my medicals.

Anyone here who can share their experience?

My pov, for those who are here in Cebu and has not done their medicals yet, I'd say it might be better to conduct your medicals at St. Luke's Global than to wait for 3weeks or more. This is if you have means to schedule earlier with Cebu Doctors (I inquired with them first but the earliest schedule they can give me was May 11th. I called them april 14), and has extra budget for a flight to Manila.

God bless everyone!

as for our case, we had our medicals at st luke's global last april 4, 2014 and up until now, our ecas hasn't changed. it's still application received. we didn't also hear anything from st luke's global. do you guys think i shoud start to worry? they did inform us that it might take them up to 3 weeks to forward our results to CEM. it's more than a month now. and to think we chose st luke's global due to feedbacks that they send results quick. any advise on what we should do? thanks so much!

Just relax...take it easy. For us we got med done and got 3days results but in ecas change in 3.5months....ecas is not acurate to make it clear. Its a case to case basis.
Atleast youve got your meds done and hoping that your medical rcvd change soon.

Hello,

My aunt's application for MPNP was denied and here is the reason (She is a 2012 applicant):

"Applicant has satisfactorily demonstrated the ability and intent to establish successfully in
Manitoba and there were no retention issues identified"
- Answer is "NO"

What could be the reason why she was assessed this way?
- Is it because she has a sister in Vancouver? (But her MB spportter is also her sister)
- Is it because her settlement plan wasn't strong enough
- Is it because she was already 58 yo and the point she got in Age is 0? (But she is a PHD)

Please help me.

Thanks
First of all, thanks to share this here, I think this is very important to know, and learn how they are thinking in order to not loose time.

My opinion about your Aunt´s application is:
Looking for whom/"features" that the Manitoba is looking for: They are 5:
1- Employability
2- Education
3- Language
4- Age
5- Adaptability

And thinking about the main reason of this immigration program: - That is Improve and Contribute to local grow, make sense to me that the main reason, remain in number 4 (Age).

The average retirement age in Canada is around 65, than your relative will contribute (taxing and so on...) around only 5 or 6 years top (you need discount the period of time to get the Visa and settlement process...) and after this, the government will need to take care of your relative.
After this main reason, you can add others "small things", like the field of your Aunt expertise, perhaps is not in the objective that they are looking for, maybe not a high IELTS level, and having a sister out side of Manitoba also is important.
If you some all this together, the settlement plan can be the best one, but the Profile does not fit in the Program requirement.

Any way, this is only an opinion, you should not discard the possibility to inquire the program, asking for more details, and try to send a asking for decision review, where (if your Aunt are able) to prove that can contribute more than only 5 years, that the intent is remain in Manitoba, and other points that you think is relevant.

Hope to help in some way.
