Hi Bk!

Congrats on your AOR ;)

I would also like to share with everyone that my sponsor was already interviewed July 31, 2012. She asked if I passed the assessment which the officer then answered that they will need to assess first and I will be then receiving a letter by snail mail after 4-6 weeks. That'll be October then.

I hope everything goes well.

:)

to anyone asking for the IELTS exam, i hope my input would help:

You need to register 3 weeks before the exam. I got my request for IELTS April 26 (since my sponsor scanned it). I was planning to take the May 12 (i think-forgot the published date) exam but unfortunately, all the slots were taken so i ended up with the June 9 exam. you can call them at (02) 555-3000.

for speaking, 1st part is getting to know you. your name, where you were born etc. then some gen. questions like your fave color. then after that they would just ask you for some follow up questions. stick with a topic you're familiar with. keep in your mind the question "why" that would help. ^_^ and then the last part of the speaking exam is that you will be given a topic with 3 questions that you need to talk about for 2 minutes. you are given 1 minute to process your thoughts then the examiner will signal you when to start and stop.

the listening exam has 4 parts. 1-40 items. every part of the test consists of ten questions. first part is capturing data. usual conversation in the call center industry. capturing prices, names, date etc. for the 2nd to the 4th part, you need to have speed in taking down notes and memory retention is needed as well.

for reading, its going to be a very very long article. @_@ it gave me a headache. the trick that i did though, is i went to the questions directly, then i just looked for the answers. i hope my trick would help you. i'd suggest that you read long articles with questions at the end.

for writing, i was asked to write 2 letters. 1st is a complain letter. a letter to someone- theres a touch of personalization. 150 words.
the 2nd letter is essay type. 250 words. make sure that you focus on the 2nd one though because it is given more weight than the first letter.

i didn't go to any review center but i used the following websites for my ielts review. its really helpful. i would also suggest to practice writing letters atleast twice a week or read diff topics as well for the essay. try to watch a lot of english movies and talk to your family using the english language.

here's also a link so you would know what to expect with your IELTS Exam: I think this is really important.

Best of luck!

I just took IELTS awhile ago. :) Hoping for a positive result.
Now, I will create an online account for my application.
How long it will take to finish it? I almost have all the necessary documents
except the IELTS TRF.

Per my sponsor, he received a letter dated July28, 2012 corresponding to my AOR or the file number...as of posting date, i have not received an email coming from MPNP officer concerning the matter...what is the normal time (difference) or days they send it tru email? do you have any idea...please share ! thanks,

Hi Olanzky ~ where did you take your IELTS exam?....in IDP or in British Council?...my principal applicant is also scheduled exam this coming Aug. 25...can I ask for exam tips from you?....thanks...

British Council!
I just downloaded reviewers online. I also used free online review facility by British council. Practice practice practice.... try to use the actual answer sheet while doing self review exams and use a timer/stopwatch while doing the practice test for writing and reading.... by the way "I hate Reading test" lol

Good luck!!!

Hi, the fastest way to send the document is obviously by email. I would advise you photocopy the IELTS result, then write your file number on the photocopy result then scan the document afterwards. You can now attach the document to the email you are sending to MPNP. Ensure that your file number and the type of document you are sending is made the subject of the email like: "File No MBxxxx-xxxxxx: Submission of Requested IELTS Result".

I dont think you need to notorised the document. They can always verify the result independently.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Such a big help.. :) :)
Thank you very much!!!!!

Hello :)

The applicant will receive the letter of AOR by snail mail not by email for GS. MPNP will send 1 letter to the sponsor and the other one to the applicant that will take 3 weeks to reach Philippines.

In my case, my AOR is dated June 15, my sponsor received the letter June 22 and I got mine July 9.

Hello All,

I am new here. Does anyone know or have an idea how MPNP rate the IELTS? Is this for all subtests or the OBS?

Thanks you!

thanks for the enlightenment...but is this really happening that way?...qouting from the IMM0008, it was mentioned in the "contact information" portion that "all correspondence will go to this address (written in the application form) unless you indicate your email address below"...it goes without saying that we will be informed via email or both...anyways maybe i'm just bit excited..cheers!
