Can we show funds equivalent to 10,000 CAD in the form of fixed deposits in our country?

Thats a good idea biddukhan ..... I also wanna alert other applicants to do a rehearsal with their sponsor over the phone to make sure they are on the same page cos It seems they are calling at least one sponsor and the applicant to find out if the information are the same .... maybe thats the new process they are using now to cut down on fraud and approve genuine applicants ..

Your observation is absolutely right. Most of the questions asked from me was also asked to my sponsor to confirm that I am telling the truth and if we really know each other. My sponsor & I talked on skype videocall about how's the interview for the both of us and we were happy that our answers matched.

Your suggestion will be a great help to be prepared, just in case, the applicant will be interviewed as well.

Ok checked with my consultant for the same based on his experince that only those applicants are interviewed who have been enrolled/rejected in any other immigration stream for canada earlier.

Tweety's is the only case i heard in which applicant is also interviewd.

But yes there is no harm to sync with your sponsor to make sure all are on same page and provides similar information to the officer.

Last year, a number of Filipino applicants most especially under GS were interviewed as well right after the sponsor. It is just this year that I really thought they will not call applicants anymore since I haven't read any post and in my surprise, I am the first one.

You are right, applicants should really talk with their sponsors in order to prepare for the interview, just to be sure.

My time line so far is:
Application online: October 25th, 2012
AOR: October 26th, 2012

Just received a call from MPNP at 11 pm in my homecountry (Philippines) and around 10 am in Manitoba. The conversation took 15-20 mins. I haven't talked with my sponsors yet if they were interviewed already.

These are the questions asked from me:
Questions:
1. What are the names of your sponsors?
2. How are you related with them?
3. Explain the relationship on how they became your father's cousins.
4. Job and position of your sponsors?
5. Name of your sponsors' husband and children?
6. Why you chose to apply in Manitoba?
7. Being a Nurse, do you know the steps on how to become registered in Manitoba? I said yes, I need to be assessed first by the regulating
body which is the CRNM (College Of Registered Nurses Of Manitoba).
7.1 Give me the requirements in order to be assessed in CRNM?
8. Do you have any relatives or friends in other province of Canada?
9. Do you have any other relatives in Manitoba besides your sponsors?
10. Since, I had previous approval as live-in caregiver in Ontario but didn't pursue with it, she asked me several questions about it.
11. Do you work full time in UK?
12. How long do you want to stay in Manitoba?
13. Do you have any updates like change in address, number of dependents?
14. Before she ends the conversation, she asked me if I have any question.

"Lord, I did my best with this application and the rest is up to you."

It has been seen in this thread (excel sheet) that many applicants who got their LOAs are not updating any information after that i.e their application to CIC......So it is my request to those applicants that please update us about ur further application file at CIC........this wll be benificial for all of us.

Yes this is true now only one frnd is sufficient for general stream i would advice you to kindly download the handbook from mpnp site as there are some other requirements as well like the frnd who will sponsor you cannot sponsor any one else till your process is complete.

Not if they are in English. If they have been translated to english then they must be notarized i think?
