Moving to US from Canada

Hello All,

I’m moving from Canada to USA to pursue a masters degree. I obtained my permanent resident status while working in Canada in January 2018.

I wanted to know if I can continue to have a bank account in Canada after I leave. Are there any restrictions to keeping one open? What should I do with my TFSA , RRSP and Pension considering that I’m not sure if and when I’ll return back to Canada.

Just wanted you to know you are NOT a Citizen of canada. Your PR will expire in 5 years time.
To become a citizen of Canada, you need to be in canada for atleast 1,095 days in 5 years time.
