I was recently approved for my student visa application and I have a couple questions about the next step. I will be moving to Victoria BC in June and begin studying in September. The reason I am arriving early is to kind of establish myself before school begins, and my partner lives in Victoria so I would like to spend the summer with him. I stated on my Visa application I would like to arrive in June and didn't hear anything against it...
My plan is to drive to Port Angeles Washington (from LA), and take the ferry to Victoria with my vehicle and my belongings. I am unsure of how this process works, and I don't know the limitations of what I am allowed to bring. I won't be arriving with much: clothes, television, keyboard, computer, kitchen tools, and books. The vehicle is a 2010 mazda 6. Are there any forms I need to have ready ahead of time? Should I arrive at the port of entry hours before my ferry to have my vehicle and belongings searched? Any advice is much appreciated.
