Hello Everyone,

My wife and I got married in Canada in March 2014, but we moved to Honduras the same year in May. I am a Honduran and I have a 10 year Visitor Visa. We plan to move back to Ontario this June and to apply for a Sponsorship visa inland. We have a daughter who was born in Honduras but has her Canadian citizenship papers already. We are landing at the international airport in Toronto.

My questions is:
What should we say to the officer when we go through customs?

Since the plan is to arrive and apply for PR we dont have a return ticket. We just want to make sure we are prepared for the worse.

Your help will be appreciated it.

You need to purchase a return ticket since your TRV only allows you to visit Canada (not move or live here). Without a return ticket, chances are quite high the airline will refuse you boarding for the flight to Canada. Your wife and daughter can travel on one way tickets.

You can be honest with the officer about your intentions to apply for PR. I would complete the inland application forms and have them with you to demonstrate that you plan to mail them as soon as you're in Canada. If you have any assets (property, bank accounts) that you are leaving behind in Honduras - I would bring proof of these as well.
