Hello everyone

This is the first time I am posting something anywhere so it might be difficult to understand what I am saying.
Currently I live in Toronto. I moved here from Quebec couple years ago and I think it was the best decision at the time but now I think I have to move again because one of my son was diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder last year. Since that I am trying get him to best therapy available but its too expansive. He is on the wait list for couple of program but It will takes years before he gets them. So I am looking into moving to Calgary because they have better school and funding available over there . The main problem that I have is that I don't know anyone there so It hard to find out which area is more safer to live. Any suggestion

The best place to find information that is actually useful on any city in Canada is to look for blogs or forums about the particular city. More often than not people will rant about things they dislike and tell you about thinks they do like. When I first immigrated to Canada this was one of the most useful resources for finding things out about a city (that the tourism section of the city / province) does not want you to know. I had to move to Prince George BC (from another country). There are 3 very smelly pulp mills in the town. This information was not on the tourism sites, but the blogs had plenty to say about it.

Hope that helps

Calgary's a moderately safe city, there's very little crime and most of the areas surrounding the city are safe places to live. The safest places are by far the north west of the city, there's more families and better schools than the other areas. Royal Oak in particular is a safe bet.
