Moving out of province while application still in process, should I let CIC know

Hello all, I would really appreciate your inputs on my situation.

I will be moving from ON to BC soon, and my file has been transferred to the Scarborough office in Feb, I am wondering if I should let CIC know that I am moving to a different province. Would that prolong the process(that is, transfer my file from scarborough to a local office in bc and I would lose my priority I already got in here, and be waiting at the end of the queue)? Has anyone had any experience with this? What is the best option for me?

Thank you!

I wasn't able to find a specific answer to this question. However, it would be in keeping with other CIC practices to retain your priority after a file transfer.

The only thing I was able to find about address changes was Section 2 in Manual CP 13:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/cp/cp13-eng.pdf

Generally, I think it's a good idea to change your address so you'll be receiving mail in the right place.

thanks so much frege for document, i never knew such a thing existed...

I might just give them a call to find out if they will retain my priority though.

Generally you should change your address and i heard it takes up to 8 weeks for a transfer.

Does changing my mailing address only affect the processing time? ie. I keep the same home address.

The strike does not affect citizenship applications.
