Hello All,

One of my friends got MPNP last year and he planned to live there during his application. But it took so long and he moved on to better jobs but now he has got the COPR and would be doing his landing(coming from India) next month. He has also been offered a very high paying job in Ontario by his current company. Is there a way he can switch the province safely as he would need to sponser his parents in near future. Please share your insights.

Others can comment as well but obviously he needs to either initial land in the PNP province directly or at least if transiting through another province be prepared to convince CBSA his intention is to travel on to the PNP province. Failure to do so his landing could be refused and for sure if not landing in PNP province then not advisable to declare at landing planning to reside in another province given one recent example on here where the individual reported their COPR was cancelled as a result.

Whilst there is no legal obstacle for a PNP PR to move to another province some future applications could potentially be problematic if there was zero intent shown to even attempt to reside in a PNP province. There is no way to predict anything or any hard rule so ultimately up to the OP although sponsoring parents might anyway be a few years away.
