Unless you have expensive furniture it is probably cheaper to purchase new stuff if you don’t want to drive your own stuff across the country. Cheapest option is put as much stuff in your own car with or without a uhaul trailer and drive your stuff yourself. Moving across country is expensive.

Vancouver is very far away so yes it will be expensive. 5k is actually a pretty low quote. Depending on the size of home and type of moving services it can be much more expensive.
5k was for BC/PEI. Toronto might be less expensive.

I just saw this site via googling the rough cost.
https://www.bigsteelbox.com/resources/what-cheapest-way-to-move-across-canada/

I am not recommanding nor not recommanding them. Just that they posted a sample cost:
BigSteelBoxRENTAL TRUCKFULL SERVICE MOVER
PRICE*:$5,262$3,356**$10,360
WEIGHT CAPACITY:10,000 LBS5,605 LBS7,500 LBS***

If you google, there are many sites that provide this kind of services. You can get a free qoute (rough) but you likely need to provide them your contact information.

Just sell off your furniture in Vancouver and buy it again in Toronto. It would be cheaper than moving all of it across coast to coast. This, unless you have lots of expensive stuff.

When we moved our car from Toronto to Vancouver, we used the train service, which was about 2K. On return, we just sold off the car. For clothes and essential stuff, we just mailed it to Toronto via Canada Post (was about 40-50 bucks per large ~50 pounds box -- and we had about 10- of those). For expensive stuff, we just carried with us on the flight. When we checked for movers, they were between 5K- 12K and there was no point using them for mostly Ikea furniture.

We sold off our entire furniture in Vancouver for 2.5K (to the next renter) and furnished our Toronto 4 bedroom house for about 7K. Not only was it cheaper to not ship, it was much less headache. Even now, if we have to move, we would do the same.

Please suggest some cheap rate moving companies or container box cheaper to move my furniture from Vancouver to Toronto? Also car shipping from Vancouver to Toronto?please help

Several options from experience:

1) Local moves:
a) Hire a professional moving company. Do not DIY.

2) Local Storage moves
a) Rent a container, corten steel container if possible.
b) if no space for the container, use a moving and storage service.

3) Long distance moves
a) Sell all the furniture, send the boxes on a pallette, shrink-wrapped and starpped down.
b) If you have irreplaceable items, hire a moving company just for that or rent a truck and drive it yourself.
c) Hire any local moving company with generally better reviews, that is affiliated with a van line and wait several weeks.
d) Hire a local moving company that will move you directly.
e) DIY with rentable and long distance containers. U-Box, PODS, ABF U-Pack etc.

4) Vehicle Shipping
a) via train. Livingston.
b) enclosed or open. MVS, Hansen's, TFX
---open and train, your car will get dirty.

Consider that pricing will always be about 2x of what you expected.
Good luck ;)

There are always exceptions....

1) A combination of DIY and local moves
2) Find a friend / relative to find space to hold the collectibles
