Hi guys,

My wife and I completed our first landing with our COPRs earlier this year in March, and came back to the US as we had planned on moving to Canada later this year or early next year. It has been quite sometime but we still haven't received our individual physical PR cards - the portal says they're still under process.

My wife recently got a job in Canada and needs to start in a few weeks, I will not be able to accompany her due to work related obligations. She plans on travelling with a friend in a private vehicle, with her COPR document. I am the primary applicant - but since we have already completed our first landing - is it necessary for me to accompany her at the border - or can she travel with her own COPR document ? Would there be any other documents that she may have to provide?

We do have a customs form that we declared during our first landing, but that will be done sometime later when I can drive a rental truck with all the goods. She will only be carrying a couple of bags with mainly clothes and maybe some food.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

Congrats!

Since you and your wife are now PRs, independent of each other, you do not have to accompany her (or she you) to enter Canada; the COPR will indeed allow her to enter Canada.

Make sure your `goods to follow' document is accurate to what you will be bringing in the rental truck.
