Hi, we were wondering if anybody has some advice regarding being sponsored from within Quebec, land in inland office, then get the PR card by mail and then shortly thereafter move to Ontario together. What would be the consequences regarding PR status/sponsor undertaking status?

Since the CSQ undertaking is 3 years, can we move out of Quebec during that period and do we have to update CIC for anything? Perhaps new sponsorship for other province than Quebec?

Can anybody help us out since I can't really find a satisfying answer anywhere, be it positive or negative...

It doesn't matter where you move in Canada - the three year undertaking is going to follow you (the three year undertaking applies to everyone - regardless of the province). You can go ahead and move - you don't have to tell anyone.

For any other province than Quebec, you are correct. However the undertaking part of the sponsorship for Quebec is different than for the other provinces, since we had to apply for that separately at the Quebec government, which resulted in getting a CSQ and did not complete that part of the sponsorship application to CIC.

This is also the reason for my question in the first place.

Yes, because Quebec is special, so they have special immigration requirements :P These requirements are irrelevant once you have PR. You can move anywhere you want in Canada.

Agreed. You are a PR now, so that means you can move anywhere in Canada. You do not have to tell CIC or the Quebec government. Quebec may want you to stay, but they cannot force you to.

Quebec Immigration is a Joke , there is no such thing , it's just a money grab , they have no powers whatsoever , they can't issue or decline PRs , they can't hold or Refuse PRs from moving in/out of Quebec . Just les Francais du Canada want to have s saying in immigration or get some Money from Canada .

There are consequences however. Once you move to Ontario you have a 3-month waiting period to be eligible for OHIP. Ontario clinics will not accept a Quebec Health card. You will pay first and then YOU try to recover your fees from Quebec.
