Good Day!
I have a question I'm hoping some of your can help me with. I have been living and working in Thailand for 29 years. In 4 years time I (we) plan to relocate to Cranbrook B.C. and place my daughter into high school.

I plan to apply for outland sponsorship of my wife. The process takes roughly 12 months so we'll start 18 months ahead of the planned move date.
My question is - once the Visa has been approved, how long do we have before we have to travel to Canada?

I believe the entry visa is valid for 1 year after the medical date, but maybe someone else can provide more information.

Hi, sorry I can't help you in your query, but will you help me? I just want to know how is Cranbrook for an international student? Are part-time jobs available for students? Plsplsplspls help me.

Hi, It just so happens that I know a lot about the International Student program in Cranbrook as in the past I've sent my eldest daughter there as well as helped some friends in Thailand send their children to study in the ESL program.
Cranbrook has an accredited college with full transfer to other Universities in Canada. Working is allowed up to 20 hours per week and there are lots of jobs available working in the hospitality industry. You have to be in an academic program which does not include the ESL program.

"Students in an academic program with a valid Canada study permit may work part-time off-campus for the duration of their studies. After completing a two year program (diploma), students are eligible for a post-graduate open work permit to work in Canada for three years. Students in a one year program are eligible for a post-graduate work permit equal to the length of their studies. Please note that the college does not guarantee employment. "
Program less than eight months in duration are not eligible for a post-graduate work permit.

Feel free to contact me directly - kirk_riddell@hotmail.com if you want more information.

Thanks for speedy reply. I just wanted to know if Cranbrook has part-time jobs. You answered and helped me. Thanks again. Just one more question, did your daughter had any problem in finding job or there are plenty of opportunities?
