Now that most May & June applicants are getting the first AORs and preparing their full docs, what are the things to watch out for?

There was list of things that CIC rejections were based on, like blanks, insufficient job duties and so on.

Is there such a list for VO?

Visa office are going to be running background checks. They will make sure your educational certificates etc seem genuine, and may ask for additional documents if they have any doubts. They may (in fact probably will) also telephone your employers to ensure the references they have given are genuine (verification of employment). Generally I think the biggest reason for failure would be if they are unconvinced on any part of the application, having run the background checks.

Some reasons that we saw on forums are
1.) VO not satisfied with job duties
2.) Not Enough Points
3.) Low IELTS score for a job like lecturer
4.) Proof of funds

Hi

If there are low IELTS marks but 67 or more marks..the VO doesn't have the right to refuse....

right??

thx

I agree but in some cases (from London CHC) I have seen on forum that VO said he was not convinced that with low english proficiency one can establish in Canada in job profile like lecturer etc and app was rejected

nope.... an applicant from Singapore with low IELTS score was asked to resubmit IELTS with better score, he was too in teaching profession.

1.When an applicant submitt less duties ....or exact copy paste from HRD website

CIC will calculate the points and return during their eligibility review if the applicant hasn't got 67 points, so I don't think VO will return for lack of points (it should never have gotten their in the first place if not 67 points!). CIC's eligibility review also checks the job duties, unsure maybe VO do a more thorough check.

Today only a case was refused because of less points.

The reason is that CIO is not able to verify the point claims where as CHC does a thorough background check and ascertain if all calims are as per there norms or not
