AWESOME, really it seems everything happens in one big 'surge'. Seems to be a lot of activity lately since holidays finished.

Yes, you are in process. Did you get by mail or email? My wife got by email.

You were there for 5 weeks, so I think a good idea.

Ya Shawn it was by email, but i think they changed the format. have a look

Dear XXX XXXXX:

This is to confirm that we have received your application for permanent residence in Canada.

Your application has been assigned the file number indicated on the above. Permanent residence file numbers begin with the letter B followed by nine numbers. If you need to communicate with our office, please indicate this file number and your Unique Client Identifier number (UCI) which will appear on future correspondence from our office.

At any time throughout the processing of your application, you may receive a letter or an email from our office asking for additional documents/information. Please note that all documents sent to this office written in a language other than English or French must be accompanied by certified English OR French translation.

The current average processing time for Family Class: Spouses/partners and dependent children is 6 to 12 months. We do not respond to status enquiries for cases being processed within the above standards.

Once the Visa Officer has assessed your application, he/she will determine if an interview is required. If required, a letter will be sent to you which will specify the date, time and location of the interview, who must attend and what documents you must bring with you.

If a positive selection decision is made, and if your medical results have or will expire before your application can be finalized, we will send you medical forms with the instructions. You must undergo the medical examination within 90 days from the date we sent you the new medical forms. If there are no complications with your medical exam, we should receive the medical result within 4 weeks.

Please note that all immigrant applicants are subject to background checks. Most of these checks are conducted within a few months but in some cases the process is much longer.

The overall processing time can vary for several reasons such as how quickly you provide us with the information or documents requested, whether an interview is required, various internal verification procedures and/or the number of applications we have to process.
Your sponsor will have to pay the Right of Permanent Resident Fee (RPRF), if it applies to your application, and if it has not already been paid. The RPRF must be paid by your sponsor in Canada, not to our office. Your sponsor may choose to pay the RPRF at any time during the processing but it must be paid prior to visa issuance.

Oh god, they have definitely changed the format! I'm sure its just standard to say 6-12 months. At least there is some explination of the process. Well, the wait continues, at least you can rest a little not wondering if file is gone.

Dmitri,

Yes I'm mailing off CAIPS request today. Lookup CAIPS and you'll see a thread on here that I created. Someone responded with very good instructions of how to get this done. I will request these notes every month from now on so we have something to look forward to and maybe understand a little more about what is going on. Makes sense!

About updated info, I actually didn't send a revised form, but instead just explained which question was answered incorrectly. We are sending a package to embassy Monday of next week with phone records, some emails, skype call logs, boarding passes, photos of month holiday and also a letter from work explaining I requested vacation because my visa is 1yr business and wanted them to know that it had absolutely nothing to do with work.

So yes, I think it's absolutely a good idea, just try to make it as small as possible to get your main point across. You dont' want to flood them with more paperwork I think. Just simply show you continue communication, visited her and that's about it.

Here's to getting approved quickly! In 6 months from now I'm confident we'll both be with our wives. My wife and I think by March possibly, but she has travelled many countries in the world and maybe this will cause us delay (never lived in any past 6 months though).

Well I will be sending a few docs that only I can provide by co-worker who will give to my wife and then she will get photos and emails printed there. So I will send only envelope and then will add and send by Pony Express from Sochi.

You can send by any of those couriers.

She can sign, scan and email the form to you no problem. Just print it out.

I'm not 100% sure, but based on instruction I referred to earlier, they mention scan and send to requestor. I assume this has been done in the past and no problems. If it bounces back to me, no big deal, I will fix...

Concerning mailing to Moscow, I think it's best that the package will be coming from the applicant who they are evaluating. So my wife will send all the docs and sign the cover letter. So she will send the docs herself once she adds all the evidence. This way you save on package weight also.

Well it might not matter at all. My reasoning is that the applicant provides supporting documentation based on proof of relationship. It probably don't make a difference where it comes, my things need to go to her before she can attach her things.
