Tracable or not, where do you get one and if the network is discontinued, how do you use it?

My brother had one of these guys: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_5110 So rugged, he accidentally had dropped it in the driveway and driven over it with his jeep. The screen was broken but the phone still worked. You could still phone from it and receive calls, just not see anything.

My mom had this bananaphone: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_8110

My first phone doesn't have a wiki, was a panasonic. I have had 7 phones and never the same brand twice.

It is a GSM (digital phone).

Not traceable in what sense?
And who says it is not traceable?

GSM phone calls can be listened to by others. http://www.gsm-security.net/faq/gsm-a5-broken-security.shtml

GSM phones are traceable :)

A software package can do the following to GSM phones.

o Call Intercept

o Spy Call

o Read SMS and Emails

o Get GPS Location

o Call records

o SIM Change notification

o Full remote control

o Web-based full text keyword searches

o Download reports in CSV, PDF and RTF formats

by traceable i mean by police. when police trace you from your mobile phone location with your sim card / imei number

Yes they can do that.

Untraceable only normally means "pay as you go", because there is no registered address - no contract.
