While sending the complete documents, if one forgets to attach the copy of the CIO Sidney letter (bearing the file number) and also forgets to mention the file number anywhere in the cover letter, what could be the consequences ?

It will hard for them to track your approved application from the CIC and if they cant track it they might send your documents back because visa office does not have any of your details so CIC asked to send that letter so they know you have pass the 1st stage.

send the document ASAP. with covering letter. . dont delay. also inform your local CIC.

one option I MAY THINK OF

send a copy of CIO letter with explainatory letter it shoud have courier details, your name, date of birth, passport number..... may be it would be of help
