Hello,

I have entered the candidates pool in express entry system few days back. Yesterday I realised a mistake I made. My wife has her maternal aunt and her family staying in Canada for more than 2 decades. I mentioned them as known relatives of spouse while filling my profile. But now I came to know that only 1st degree relations count in that criteria.

We have a very low score, and this point made us eligible to enter the pool. Removing the same would make us ineligible for the pool. Please suggest what should I do. Should I withdraw my profile from the pool ???

Yes you should edit the profile accordingly. Even if it shows eligible now, if you get an ITA, your profile will be scrutinized by an officer, any error will be uncovered and scores will adjust accordingly. If it results in lower scores than needed, they will reject you.

How come aunt of your spouse makes a difference? The only CRS points granted to relatives is siblings. Or is this related to FSW 67 points?
