mistake in background declaration form

Hi Guys,
I just discovered that i made a mistake in my background declaration form. i wrote down my mothers name at birth as my family instead of her own family name(maiden name). can i send a new background declaration form to CIC? if yes how do i go about it?anyone has done this before?

Wait for the AOR, if you haven't already received it. Then fill out a new form and email to CPP-O.

Email should be fine.

They will need an updated background dec signed and sent via regular mail. A copy is not sufficient for this form. I'd suggest including a cover note explaining why you are submitting the new form.

same situation happened with me i just scan it with cover letter and email it to them, next day they confirmed me that they have included the new form with my application.

thanks of the help guys. sent a scan background declaration form with a covering letter explaining my situation. Got a reply from CPP-O today that the form has been added to m y file.

Nothing much you can do. Wait for your AOR, then prepare new form with correct details, scan it and email it along with a cover letter to CPC.

Even we did the same mistake.. my mother-in-law's family name we filled incorrectly in my h'band's form with her current last name, still waiting for AOR..can we resend the new form after we got AOR and one more question is my mother-in-laws's given name is misspelled in my husband's passport(instead of k they put ra). we got a notarized affidavit which is taken by my mother-in-law stating that my name is xxx which is misspelled incorrectly in my son's pp as xyx. does this work??

Once you get your AOR email, send new forms.
