MISSING LETTER IN SPOUSE NAME IN PASSPORT

One of my friend has filled his case in 2005.
At the time of update he given the new passport copy of his spouse. In new copy of passport the name was missing one letter.
(let say her name is Sarah and on her new passport it was written Sara, it mean they miss last letter "h")
Passport was renewed in 2006. At updating time they send new copy, at the time of medical they send new copy (the medical form was having the same old name).
Now at stamping time they send new passport with same name and same name was in update information sheet.

Yesterday they courier their passports. Without including the old passport of the spouse. (according to them they have the re-entry visa and working visa information on this passport from Saudi Arabia, so they can not change or correct the spelling easily. The passport was with sponsor and it will take time to change the passport and CHC time was nearing to expire)

Now they are worried about the name on passport and on application, CHC still using the name as Sarah in their communication
They ask me and I am not able to give any expert opinion.

I request you guy please response to this post.

1) Kindly please suggest what they can do now. Shall they send old passport again with explanation to Embassy?
2) Shall they have to wait communication or passport return with stamp or without stamp from embassy?
3) Can he write by e-mail to CHC?

I think I made clear their case here .

Apply to your country's Embassy in KSA to 'change/amend her name'. U don't need to 'replace' the passport booklet.

The Embassy can 'endorse' the amended name in one of the pages of the same passport. It takes only a few days to get the job done.

Nothing to worry there.

Same thing I told them before when they ask me.
They are from India and Indian embassy now days not amending or making any endorsement they have to change the booklet (according to them). (Or at present it is not possible for him because of some reasons).

Secondly, They have already sent the passport to CHC London yesterday, Now what they should do in this stuation?

I will highly appreciate your response.

Relax... probably nothing will go wrong, as the CHC is already aware of it & yet requested the pps.

Can they communicate by e-mail with CHC London after 3-4 weeks time to check if every thing is fine?
