Hi everyone,

My citizenship application is in progress. I was able to submit all the requirements/needed and I'm just waiting to hear from them. What if I lost the original copy of my Language (IELTS) exam and my expired passport (which covers the 6-year period), are these documents need to be validated during the exam? I still have a photocopy of these documents. Has anyone also experienced losing a required document while the application is in process? What did you resolve this?

Thanks a lot!

Losing a passport could cause issues(red flag). Do you have the police report? Even though you have the photocopies of your passport, there is no proof that it is up to date and has all the stamps. Worst come to worst they can issue you a residence questionnaire. It's burden on the applicant to prove their entries/exits and to show their ties with Canada to show physical presence.
Usually during the test/interview, cic does not ask for the originals for language proof however you are supposed to carry the originals during the test/interview. If they ask and you don't have it then there could be further issues.

Thanks for your reply. The passport that is missing is the old one (the one I used when I first enter in Canada), it already expired so i have it renewed and I do have in my possession is only the current passport. Any suggestions on how to get by on this?

Thanks again,

Try to find the old passport.

And get a cbsa report if you did not check "yes" on page 7, section D of your application.
